DEVELOPED IN EGYPT SINCE 1989

Al-Adely Sheep Breed

A family-developed Egyptian sheep breed shaped by continuous selection, field experience, and a long-term vision for productive flocks.

The Story Behind the Breed

The Al-Adely Sheep Breed began as a long-term breeding and selection program led by Eng. Adel Abdelkader Said. The breed was named after him, reflecting the family’s commitment to developing a productive Egyptian sheep line adapted to local conditions.

Eng. Kareem Adel Said continues this journey alongside his father, combining nearly four decades of practical observation with modern production knowledge, veterinary cooperation, and international experience.

Productive Characteristics

  • Fast growth and strong weight development.

  • High fertility, a high twinning rate, and early maturity.

  • Strong maternal ability and good care of newborn lambs.

  • Semen evaluation of our rams as part of monitoring reproductive performance.

  • Good milk yield supporting lamb growth and dairy production.

  • Efficient feed utilization and adaptability to Egyptian climatic conditions.

  • Tender, distinctive red meat with low fat and no undesirable odour.

    What We Provide

    • Selected breeding rams
Al-Adely rams selected to improve flock performance and productive traits.

    • Selected ewes and yearlings
Selected Al-Adely ewes and yearling females to establish breeding flocks and improve productivity.

    • Lambs for breeding and fattening
Healthy lambs selected for breeding or fattening, according to your farm’s needs.

    • Market-ready lambs
Fattened lambs raised for high-quality sheep meat.

    • Fresh sheep milk
Fresh milk from our flock, available by advance reservation subject to supply.

    • Lambino® dairy products and technical support
Sheep-milk dairy products from Lambino®, with practical guidance for sheep farmers.

Our objective is not simply to sell animals. We help farmers choose animals according to the purpose of the project and support better breeding, feeding, health management, and long-term flock performance.

      THE STORY BEHIND THE SCIENCE

An Egyptian Breed Shaped by Generations of Selection

Al-Adely sheep did not emerge from a single cross. Eng. Adel Said began with carefully selected sheep from Egypt, then continued selection across successive generations to strengthen and stabilize the desired productive traits.

This long breeding journey produced two documented selected lines: HORS, selected for a high ovulation rate, and HMYS, selected for high milk yield.

      WHAT THE PUBLISHED RESEARCH FOUND

In 2012, researchers from the Genetics and Animal Production departments at Ain Shams University examined the molecular genetic fingerprints of the two selected Al-Adely lines. The two lines clustered together, supporting the effect of the multi-generation selection program developed from sheep selected in Egypt.
